Fund / Projects
The Boat Club’s Community Improvement Project (CIP) Fund is used to provide monetary support for community projects that need financial backing to be completed. Prospective projects are brought to the Boat Club Board of Directors for their review and approval. It will be the responsibility of the Board to determine if the project is appropriate and consistent with the purpose of the Boat Club. If the project is deemed appropriate the Board will determine the amount of support that will be provided. The (CIP) Fund has grown to $8,000 thanks to member donations. Thank You Very Much!!
At the Club’s May
Board of Directors Meeting four project ideas were selected to get 2007
started.1) A donation of $250 was again made to the Cranberry Lake Flower Box and Banner Committee to support their annual fund drive. 2) The maintenance fund for the Town of Clifton Beach Park was authorized to procure stain for the Pavilions and to replace the vehicle gate that is falling apart. 3) The Water Overlook Pavilion for the Beach Park Committee of Hugh Mitchell and Clint Farnsworth was encouraged to bring it’s feasibility study to a conclusion. The challenge is to develop a design that satisfies the Architect, Hugh, and the APA. The APA rejected our last design in the Fall of 2006. 4) The Boat Wash at the Colombian Rd. Boat Launch Committee of John Adami and Hal Brown was encouraged to complete it’s feasibility study. The New Chairmen of the CIP Committee, Sherm Craig, was asked to prepare a set of Project recommendations for the Boards’ review at our July meeting. In Memory Of — It is with sadness that we note the passing of Club Members: Ruth Cook, Ed Effrat, Dick Romeo and Sally Smith. There will be a Memorial Service for Nelson Leavell at the Cranberry Lake Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM with a reception to follow at the Cranberry Lake Fire hall. |
