Stairs and Railings
The original stairs were replaced in the '90's but maintained the same basic structure - straight up and into the kitchen.
In the Fall of 2012, it was decided that more space was
needed in the kitchen and the new stair design was created with a
landing and a left turn to enter into the living room instead of the
kitchen - freeing up the prior top of the stairs for a new storage
cabinet (not in place yet).
Unfortunately, I did not take pictures from the beginning and during the construction - only at the end - as shown below:
(Click on any picture to get the high density version.)

View from the living room.
Cherry railing components procured from JAY-K Lumber in New Hartford, NY, stained glass lights from Meyda Lighting in Yorkville, NY.

View from the dining room / kitchen showing the new cabinet space.

View looking down the stairs from the top.

View down the stairs from the landing. (Six bottom treads
will be refinished outside in the spring/summer and tread carpets added
to complete the job.)

View up the stairs from the bottom.

Side view from the bottom - secret door to Jeanne's Workshop, mostly closed.
